COURSE OVERVIEW
Asymmetric Medicine is designed to prepare students to manage medical problems in environments where traditional emergency services, hospitals, and support systems may be unavailable, delayed, degraded, or inaccessible.
Drawing from lessons learned in modern conflict zones, austere environments, disaster response operations, and prolonged casualty care principles, students learn how small teams sustain casualties and continue operations despite limited resources.
This is not a certification course.
This is not a paramedic course.
This is not a "tourniquet and chest seal" course.
Asymmetric Medicine focuses on the realities of providing care when evacuation may take hours, days, or may not occur at all.
Students learn how to think through medical problems, manage limited resources, develop casualty plans, and make difficult decisions under pressure.
The course combines classroom instruction, practical skill development, scenario-based training, and realistic casualty problems.
